Not so popular bands you love to listen to.

My Fiance is the KING of listening to bands I’ve never even heard of & now I’m starting to really like some of them, such as Bloodsimple & Seamless. He listens to more heavy metal, my taste is geared more towards rock.

What “unheard of” bands do you listen to & what type of music is it?? We’re both music lovers & are always looking for new bands to listen to.

Got Something to say?

There is a band from the 80s by the name of the Chameleons who were critically acclaimed but not very popular… not in the states at least.

Yes, that Da Da Da video has always cracked me up. It’s cool that you can find those old videos on YouTube.

Deacon Blues on 25 Aug 2006

If you like the “Da da da” video, you should check out the “Electric Salsa” video.

Amy on 25 Aug 2006

Amy on 25 Aug 2006

OMG, that’s funny Deac. Good one!!

Deacon Blues on 25 Aug 2006

OH, sorry for not putting a link or something. I figured anyone can go to “Youtube” and do a search for “Electric Salsa” which is sorta like the “Da da da” song video. Well, here is the web address for what I was talking about:

Iron and Wine - Indie Pop

Buttercup on 2 Sep 2006

I love that VW commercial that used the Da Da Da song.

With Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell (double yum!), Temple of the Dog is far from unheard of. BUT, they only made one album and every track is awesome. If you don’t have it, get it, or download it!

www.psyche.com- its got 10 megs of interesting links covering a variety of cool topics… math, science, magic, literature, tarot, astrology, astronomy, ect. Its kind of cool. and if you need something a little more interactive or what have you try www.artcrimes.com-good urban artwork. or www.bored.com-there is some cute stuff there. from one bored person to the next… its not a silly question at all. i thought that is what everyone else thought to while surfing aimlessly ?

Isaiah on 5 Jan 2007

Andy, I’m not gonna lie… Iron and Wine is pretty much amazing. I really like a band called Ambulance Ltd. It’s pretty rad. Another good one is Pedro the Lion. And of course, the Decemberists.

Urka5430314 on 6 Jan 2007

uhh idk i know avenge sevenfold, and seen them live, offset is awesome and they guys are wicked nice, also incamera is pretty good, but both of them are local-ish so yeah.

Sue on 25 Apr 2007

I love listening to John Frusciante (he’s the guitarist for Chili Peppers, but his solo work is not that widely popular). Here’s the link for his website.

Egaroo on 25 Apr 2007

I’m not sure if they were That popular in the States, but in the UK they made big noise. My favorite band of all times: dark good old Pixies!

Lily on 25 Apr 2007

Which band do I like? hmm…. I don’t really know. I like alot of music

Danielle on 26 Apr 2007

Operation Ivy… I liked them more then, but now they are Rancid, I still listen to it though. And go to their concerts… :)

Interested in the uninteresting on 26 Apr 2007

Thanks for that Lily.

ebraswell on 11 May 2008

I like GG Allin a lot. Descendents! Black Flag. Dischord Records Insubordination Records Tera Melos Hella

By the way Danielle, if you like Operation Ivy and Rancid, listen to Common Rider. It’s the singer from Operation Ivy’s band after they broke up.

Mikey B on 11 May 2008

Khashayar Azar, Seraphim Shock, Veli, نبيل شعيل , Hanoi Rocks (more resently popular of the five)

I listen to a lot of non-mainstream music but the artists above are probably the least well known without being a “local” band or some “influenced” sounding band.
